Local training in North Macedonia

Sina Svetulka successfully organized a specialized local training on June 19, 2025, as part of the

EU-funded Ready4School project. The training took place at the preschool institution JUDG OC Koco Racin in Skopje and brought together preschool teachers and professionals to enhance their skills in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) during their transition to primary school.

The workshop focused on teaching school readiness skills through an ABA-based preschool program, equipping participants with practical strategies for inclusive education. Teachers gained theoretical knowledge on autism and applied behavior analysis, as well as hands-on experience with assessment and intervention methods.

Key elements of the training included:

  • Understanding autism and core ABA principles.
  • Using structured school readiness assessment tools.
  • Practical demonstrations of differentiated lesson plans tailored to preschool settings.
  • Strategies to ensure smoother transitions for children with ASD into primary school.

Through interactive exercises and group activities, participants practiced implementing new approaches to improve the quality of preschool education and provide equal opportunities for children with autism.

This local training highlights the importance of building teacher capacity and promoting inclusive early childhood education in North Macedonia. It directly supports the Ready4School project’s mission to reduce barriers and improve educational outcomes for children with autism across Europe.

All participants received recognition and received official certificates for their professional development, marking an important step in strengthening inclusive practices within preschool institutions in Skopje. The participants said that gained not only new knowledge but also practical tools that will help them in the future and also  that they would definitely use the materials and the app and that they would give a presentation about the materials to their colleagues in the preschool institutions they come from.
