Local training in Cyprus
On 17 June 2025, Vimodo organized a specialized teacher training workshop in Nicosia, Cyprus, hosted at Morningside Montessori Elementary. The event brought together 14 preschool educators and professionals to strengthen their capacity in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as they prepare for the transition from preschool to primary school.
The training addressed one of the most critical phases in early education: the transition from a structured preschool environment to a new and often less familiar primary school setting. For children with ASD, this shift can be especially challenging due to changes in routine, new teachers, and unfamiliar social dynamics. The Ready4School project responds to this need by developing and testing an evidence-based assessment tool to measure school readiness skills in children with ASD, while providing educators with practical strategies for inclusive education.
Participants engaged in a comprehensive programme that combined theory with hands-on activities, covering:
- Introduction to Applied Behaviour Management & Autism
- Using the School Readiness Assessment Tool & Ready4School Mobile App
- Data Collection and Analysis for informed teaching
- Practicing Intervention Strategies
- Adapting materials to meet diverse learning needs
