Local training in Czech Republic

Institute for Inclusive Education successfully hosted a specialized training workshop as part of the EUfunded Ready4School project, equipping 14 preschool teachers and teaching assistants with evidence-based tools for supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in their transition to primary education. The comprehensive training achieved a 100% completion rate and provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in autism support and assessment methods.

The workshop covered: understanding autism and applied behavior analysis principles; using a comprehensive school readiness assessment tool that evaluates foundational skills, social interaction abilities, and self-regulation, including hands-on practice with a digital assessment application; and implementation of a toolkit featuring 12 structured lesson plans with differentiated instruction strategies.

Through interactive role-playing exercises, participants practiced implementing assessment tools and intervention strategies in classroom scenarios. The training emphasized data-driven decision making and collaborative approaches.

The Ready4School project (2023-1-CZ01-KA220SCH-000156079) emerged from needs assessments across six partner countries, identifying barriers faced by children with autism in accessing primary education. The training directly addressed these challenges through evidence-based intervention approaches and flexible teaching methods.

All participants received official certificates recognizing their specialized training in autism school readiness support. The success of this workshop demonstrates Czech educational professionals’ commitment to inclusive practices and supporting children’s educational success.
