The 2nd Transnational Meeting of the Ready4School project took place on 17-18 October in Zagreb, Croatia. This collaborative project brought together partners from six countries – the Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Cyprus, Croatia, Ukraine and Greece – to discuss their progress in empowering preschool educators to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) make a smooth transition to primary school.
During the meeting, partners shared ideas, reviewed progress and planned the next steps in this important mission: Specifically:
– Through discussions with preschool special educators and ASD professionals in our partner countries, we’ve gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and needs associated with school readiness.
– A Comprehensive Educational Kit, including a Curriculum Guide, Lesson Plans, Goal Bank and Task Analysis, and Progress Monitoring Data Sheets, all specifically designed to address gaps in the knowledge and skills of children with ASD as they prepare for school.
– A School Readiness Skills Assessment tool tailored for children with ASD, both in print and as an easy-to-use smartphone app.
– A dedicated Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) in Skopje, North Macedonia, in April 2025, involving 3 participants per partner country, to further refine the resources.
– Local teacher training sessions in each country, so that LTTA participants can train 5 special educators in their home countries to use the materials.
